A micro-channel reactor, also known as a microreactor, is a micro-structured, pipeline-type reactor. With dimensions ranging from 10 μm to 3mm, it is produced by microreactor, micromixer, micro heat exchanger, microcontroller, micro extractor, microchemical analysis, etc., using micromachining technology and precision machining technology. This suite of miniaturized chemical equipment is intended to supplant traditional glassware like flasks and test tubes in batch reactors.

Micro-channel reactor has high heat and mass transfer efficiency. It can also provide higher heat and mass transfer efficiency by virtue of the smaller channel size and shorter heat and mass transfer distance, thus increasing the reaction rate and yield.
